需要ではなく「地政学ショック」が相場を主導
2026年8月中旬、OPEC(石油輸出国機構)、IEA(国際エネルギー機関)、およびEIA(米エネルギー情報局)の主要3機関が、異例とも言えるほぼ同時期に最新の石油市場レポートを公表しました。これら影響力の大きい3つの見解を並べて読み解くことで、現在の市場環境と今後の相場の向かう先に関する極めて価値の高い示唆が得られます。
3機関はいずれも、現在の原油相場が依然として地政学リスクによって強力に支配されていると指摘しています。中東情勢の緊迫化やホルムズ海峡の通航障害(地政学的リスク)は継続的に供給を制限し、世界的な原油在庫を取り崩させ、価格を押し上げると同時にボラティリティを高める主因となっています。
「景気の底堅さ」か、それとも「需要の抑制」か
3機関の予測において最も顕著な乖離が見られるのが「需要見通し」です。OPECは世界経済の底堅さを主張し、2026年の原油需要伸び率を日量60万バレル、2027年には日量約220万バレルへと加速すると予測しています。この見通しは、インド、中国、およびその他のアジア新興国を主な需要成長の原動力として挙げています。
